Student/Parent Services
The Lee/Ogle ROE student/parent programs provide collaborative community services to promote the success of all learners.
Current Programs (for more information click on the programs to the left):
FLEX
- Late-day program (approx. 3pm-7:30 pm) for students needing an alternative placement from 16-19 yrs of age
- Credit Recovery Program available for those close to graduation
- GED preparation and testing for those unable to earn credits toward graduation
GED – Graduate Equivalent Degree
- Preparation and testing for persons over 18 years of age is available through Sauk Valley Community College
- Preparation and testing for persons 16-18 is available in our alternative programs
Great Start – Birth to Three Home Educator Program
- Home Educators in Lee and Ogle county work with children identified as at-risk due to developmental delays
- Spanish-speaking Home Educator for Rochelle community
Homeschool Information
- Parents educating their students must provide a program comparable to a school program and deliver it in English
Lee/Ogle Dropout Prevention System (LODIS) – Truancy Prevention
- Early Intervention
- Truancy prevention case management services
- Credit Recovery
- Court Referrals
McKinney-Vento Homeless Education Program – for 17 counties in Area 2
- Educational support for students identified as homeless
- District Liaison training and technical assistance
- Subgrant management and monitoring
Nachusa Campus School
- CHOICES – for alcohol/drug residential students
- Transitions classroom – for students transitioning out of residential treatment
- Options classrooms- for students without behavior problems, yet still not attending or succeeding in the regular school environment
- Regional Safe School classroom – for Lee County students who are multiply suspended or expelled
Parent/Student Ombudsman Services
- Interpretation of the school code and administrative rules
- Advocacy if needed
- Assistance in communication between parent and district
Preschool For All Classroom in Mt. Morris
- Preschool class for 3-5 year old at-risk students
- Screening for all 3-5 year olds to check for developmental delays
School Safety
- Emergency preparedness services for districts and the counties
- School crisis planning and drill monitoring
- School Crisis Assistance Team -- Trained counselors and social workers to assist with students in crisis
Scholarship communication
- Disseminate information regarding a variety of statewide scholarship opportunities
Spelling Bee
- Lee/Ogle ROE coordinates the delivery of the regional spelling bee each February
- Each school with 2nd – 8th grade students can send a school champion to compete in the Lee/Ogle Regional Bee
- Winner of this regional bee competes in Washington DC in the National Spelling Bee in May
- Our sponsors cover the expenses of the trip for our winner and one adult
